Cathy Renwood Early Years Consultant

I’m Cathy Renwood, Early Years Consultant and I have worked in the Early Years Sector for many years as a Teacher, Leader, Lecturer, LA Consultant, EYFS Consultant and as an EYFS Profile Moderation Manager. I  have also completed Ofsted Inspection Skills Training.

Following a successful teaching and leadership career in schools and Local Authority advisory roles, I launched my own education consultancy business based in South East London, and provide EYFS curriculum consultancy services nationally & internationally. 

I have been an Associate with NACE and have written a training guide about the more able learner in the EYFS.

I also had the pleasure of working as an education consultant on a project for CBeebies, working closely with a Digital company on EYFS educational content in the development of the learning app ‘Get Creative’. This learning app has been voted the number one learning app for young children. Take a look here. 

Over the course of the last few years I was the Course Lead and Lecturer for the Early Years Foundation Degree at a London University.  In this role, I wrote, designed and implemented a new Early Years Degree course curriculum.  This involved delivering training both virtually and face-to-face to students and supporting trainee teachers with their journey towards becoming a teacher.

I am also very proud to have held the role of Early Years Expert with The Department of Education and was an external EYFSP moderator for the Standards and Testing Agency.

Currently I have an assessor role with the Office for Students.

Developing mark making and the skills for writing development is one of my core interests.

I am passionate about raising standards in Early Years Education and ensuring all children develop a love and zest for learning.

My knowledge and experience of the EYFS curriculum enables me to lead, challenge and support others to help them to inspire young children and ensure progress for all.  Being a consultant has enabled me to work with many different schools and settings.  This consultancy support has helped to raise the quality of their EYFS provision and helped to improve outcomes for children in the schools and settings that I have worked with.

The schools and settings I work with go on to receive Ofsted judgements of good or outstanding.
